Case studies · Curatorial image selection
Impact4Curator
Finding, among hundreds of images, the ones that carry an exhibition – that is a product question, not image editing.
What it is
Impact4Curator is software for curatorial work with images: review, rate, arrange on a digital light table and pass on as a structured selection. The result is not a layout, but a selection of images with a traceable structure.
The spark
Anyone who exhibits and curates knows the step for which there are hardly any tools: a large body of material has to become a selection. Layout programs come in too late, image management tools too early.
The idea: a tool made exactly for the step in between – the light table on which connections, sequences and fields of tension become visible.
What was built with AI
Built with AI:
- import and a source explorer for large collections
- stars, colour labels, keywords and smart collections
- comparison views and a ranking that leads step by step to a robust selection
- a free light table for arranging, grouping and relating
- export with sequence, groups and metadata as a project package, folder or ZIP
What only experience decides
The strongest decision is a no: design is left to other tools. Impact4Curator concentrates on what happens before the layout.
Just as deliberate: videos and documents may sit in the project, but the curatorial tools apply only to the image. A product that can do everything can do nothing properly.

What a company gains
Selecting from large collections happens everywhere: product photos, drafts, variants, submissions. The same pattern – review, rate, relate, pass on in a structured way – turns a folder full of material into a decision.
